{"id":1,"count":1,"description":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The Central Ethiopian Regional State (CERS) is currently transitioning its DRM framework from the former SNNPR centralized model to a localized, autonomous system headquartered in Hossaina. This shift is guided by the National Disaster Risk Management Proclamation of 2025, which emphasizes a move from reactive emergency relief to proactive risk reduction and resilience building. Because the region sits along the Main Ethiopian Rift, the DRM strategy should address a diverse hazard profile including seismic activity, landslides in highland areas, and seasonal flooding, alongside traditional climate-related food insecurity.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To manage these risks, the region is establishing its own Regional Disaster Risk Management Commission, supported by a tiered structure that extends down to the Woreda (district) level. These local offices are responsible for Woreda Risk Profiling and maintaining community-based early warning systems that monitor rainfall and crop health. Currently, the regional focus is on building institutional capacity, creating independent logistics hubs for emergency supplies, and strengthening partnerships with federal and international agencies to ensure that this new administrative structure can respond effectively to both natural and human-induced disasters.<\/p>","link":"https:\/\/cerdrmc.gov.et\/?cat=1","name":"About Central Ethiopia Disaster Risk Management","slug":"cerdrmc","taxonomy":"category","parent":0,"meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/cerdrmc.gov.et\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/categories\/1","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/cerdrmc.gov.et\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/categories"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/cerdrmc.gov.et\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/category"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/cerdrmc.gov.et\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fposts&categories=1"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
